    Biography

    Michael Woolston leads Frontier Economics’ water practice in Australia. Michael has led a number of major policy studies in areas including water entitlements and markets, water pricing, institutional and regulatory arrangements in the sector, and resource management issues. Michael has advised key Commonwealth Government bodies along with State and Local Governments, water businesses and regulators.

    Michael’s comprehensive knowledge of the water industry and his participation in many areas of water policy reform means he is an invaluable resource for many clients. His breadth of knowledge across state and federal water sectors ensures his approach in policy development or reform is practical and able to factor in an understanding of what other bodies in the water industry are doing.

    Prior to joining Frontier Economics, Michael was Assistant Director of Utility Regulation and Projects and Senior Economist of the Water Reform Unit in the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance.
