The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) announced today that it will not oppose the bid by Aquis to acquire the Reef Hotel Casino in Cairns.
Aquis currently has no casino interests in Australia, but proposes to develop a large resort and casino near Cairns. Aquis’s motivation for acquiring Reef is to train staff and develop the market for its proposed resort development.
Frontier (Australia) was retained by lawyers for Aquis to advise on the competition effects of the proposed acquisition.
