The Australian National Competition Council (NCC) today published a draft recommendation in favour of granting the ‘no coverage’ application made by the proponents of the proposed Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) pipeline in Queensland. If the NCC’s final recommendation is accepted by the responsible Minister, the APLNG pipeline will not be subject to economic regulation under the National Gas Law for a period of 15 years. Frontier (Australia) prepared an expert report for APLNG, which was submitted to the NCC as part of APLNG’s application.
