We’re pleased to share that our economist, Dinesh Kumareswaran, has been appointed to the Australian Energy Regulator’s (AER’s) panel of Eligible Experts for its 2026 Rate of Return Instrument (RORI) review.
The AER’s RORI review (which occurs every four years) plays a critical role in determining how energy network businesses are funded — influencing investment, consumer prices, and the transition to a more efficient, reliable energy system.
Dinesh’s appointment reflects his deep expertise in energy regulation, finance and economic modelling. He also appeared as an Eligible Expert at the concurrent evidence sessions that took place during the AER’s 2022 RORI review.
He is joined on the panel by Professor David Johnstone and Associate Professor Graham Partington.
The role of the panel is to provide the AER with independent advice on key issues that will inform the AER’s 2026 RORI decision.
